As a result, a number of lanes or the entire tunnel are closed off (via a light signal system) or at minimum, warning signals both in and in front of the tunnel start to flash.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these basic functions, the NIS-R communication system provides components and functions for informing motorists of events in the road tunnel:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>MGV4000 gateway<\/strong> to feed audio messages into an existing tunnel radio system. The messages are then transmitted via VHF and DAB+ in the tunnel and received by the car radios of the motorists.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Audio server<\/strong> function for NIS-R centre, providing the following options:\n<ul>\n<li>Put together audio messages from audio fragments (studio recordings), which can be uploaded to the system<\/li>\n<li>Record audio messages from SBG operating terminals<\/li>\n<li>Transmit time-controlled audio messages to specific zones via the MGV4000 gateway with a defined number of repetitions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You can make live announcements in the tunnel from an SBG operating terminal or phone by means of NIS-R (via MGV4000 gateway and <a href=\"https:\/\/telematix.ch\/en\/solutions\/notrufsysteme\/#tunnelfunkeinsprechen\">VHF\/DAB+ tunnel radio system<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.telematix.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/Markt-Strasse\/Markt-Strasse-Tunnel_en-3.jpg\" alt=\"Road tunnel solution with emergency call system and tunnel radio broadcasting\" class=\"wp-image-4644 alignnone size-full\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" width=\"751\" height=\"582\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As road tunnels generally have both a power supply and a data network in place, you can use VoIP call points (Voice over IP) here.<\/p>\n<p>Our <strong>VICOS-CSL<\/strong> VoIP call point provides either 100 baseT Ethernet connections (copper) with PoE (Power over Ethernet) option, or fibre-optic connections.<\/p>\n<p>If no IP network for the transmission of emergency calls is available in the tunnel, the SHDSL-based <strong>VICOS-CSS<\/strong> call point electronics can be used, which can be connected by means of simple two-wire copper cables. When using VICOS-CSS call points, Telematix\u2019s <strong>SHDSL gateway<\/strong> must be installed in the control centre, which has between 4 and 52 SHDSL connections depending on the design (line termination unit).<\/p>\n<p><strong>A <\/strong><strong>ring topology<\/strong> can be implemented using both VICOS- and VICOS-CSS call points in order to increase availability in the case of damage to cables (see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/telematix.ch\/en\/solutions\/notrufsysteme\/#vicos-csl-ringtopologie\">VICOS-CSL ring topology <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/telematix.ch\/en\/solutions\/notrufsysteme\/#vicos-css-ringtopologie\">VICOS-CSS ring topology<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Solutions for sections of open road &#8221; icon_color=&#8221;#e62a32&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.19.12&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;30px|30px|30px|30px&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In contrast to road tunnels, in sections of open road there is often no access to a network and continuous power supply for the emergency call system.
